MEFISTO is a numerical earthquake simulator that incorporates mineral precipitation and fluid-flow. The model is run in MATLAB and is aimed at improving our understanding of the behavior of subduction zones.
MEFISTO is an extension of a cellular automaton model designed to simulate the effects of silica kinetics on the subduction interface.
